The Different Types of Tarps

There are several different types of tarps on the market. Tarps, or tarpaulins, are used for many different purposes. The different types of tarps are poly tarps (polytheylene), canvas tarps, mesh tarps and many others. Tarps have a wide range of uses, from covering cars and trucks to lumber and boats. They also come in a wide range of colors depending on the type of tarp. Poly tarps come in blue, white, sliver, green, orange, brown and many other colors. Canvas tarps range in colors from white, brown and green. Let's look at the different tarp types and uses.

Poly tarps - These tarps are a plastic based material. Poly is short for polyethylene. This is a synthetic polymer, a plastic polymer of ethylene. These tarps are commonly used as pool covers, boat covers and also as storage and construction coverings. These tarps are ideal anywhere a wtareproof material is needed as protecion.

Canvas tarps - Canvas tarps are made from closely woven, plain weave fabric made of natural and synthetic fibers. This cloth, which is very firm, is used to make awnings. soft luggage and tarpaulins or canvas tarps. Canvas tarps ate used by painters, truck drivers, outdoor coverings, awnings and many other uses. They are great for use as drop cloths or even as coverings for a truck rivers load as they are very sturdy and wind-reistant.

Mesh tarps-Mesh tarps are made with a nylon tarp threading, weaved to make a material that is screen like. These are commonly used for tennis courts, industrial storage, site barriers, enclosures, visual privacy, shading and much more.
